Breastfeeding is the most important means of ensuring infants and children attain good nutrition. Complementary foods fortified with micronutrient powder canbe introduced at six months of age. Kahandaan at Nutrisyon, a forum on addressing malnutrition during emergencies organized by Children International Manila, highlights the importance of fortifyying foods with micronutrients and details how to use and access the food supplements.
Children International Philippines receives a grant from Children’s Hour for the expansion of programming for the protection of children. Some US7000 was awarded by Children’s Hour for Keeping Children Safe Through Personal Safety Lessons. This project will be implemented by the Manila field office.
Children International Philippines and Clean the World kicked off an initiative to promote proper hygiene by educating children on the importance of washing their hands properly and distributing bars of bath soap.

In February 2012, youths and parents joined an industry exposure trip to the Crown Regency Hotel in Makati City. This marks the beginning of a series of visits to various industries in preparation for the next batch of Into Employment implementation.
CI Quezon City participated in the culminating event of the 16th National Awareness Week for the Prevention of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation in February 2012 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. The activity was hosted by the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Sexual Abuse (CPTCSA).
